When Jackson turned 2, he got a new bedroom with a twin captain's bed. He slept on it for a good year and a half. Then, as the winter of '06 hit , I boldly dared to put new flannel sheets on this bed. They were cute, with moose and bears on them, just like his old sheets. This turned out to be a mistake. He hasn't slept on it since. Even after I put the old sheets back on. Even after I bought him new Diego sheets. He's been sleeping under the bed, on a pallet of quilts, for a little over a year now.
Recently he's decided that I must lie down with him at night for him to sleep. This means, of course, that I must lie on the floor. I'm old people, so you can imagine how much fun this was for my back.
So, to get to the point (finally)...ta da! New bed!
We went in to buy a full-sized mattress, but the queen was on sale for only $20 more. Excellent bargain! It's the same cushy pillowtop Sealy Posturpedic that's on the twin. It's a great mattress.
Noah quite enjoyed it, as you can see. And Jackson loved it, thankfully. We never know how he's going to take a big change (i.e. new sheets are baaad). But he's fast asleep as I type this, and hopefully the whole floor thing is behind us.
Meanwhile in Noah's room...tent! Noah loves to climb up there and play. But, alas, at bedtime, he wanted his trusty ole crib, which you can see on the right edge of the shot. Oh well. He'll sleep in it eventually.
Now, of course, Brad thinks it's high time we got a new mattress. We've had ours for 10 years! It's still nice and firm, the way we like it, but I think Brad's got his eye on a king-sized pillowtop Sealy. We'll keep you posted.

King-sized pillow top is the way to go! Sure, its kinda frustrating if you move alot and have no idea if the king-size will fit into your new house- but its the best! And that tent on Noah's bed is great. My kids would be all over that. ~jen~
