Beauty and the Beast Birthday

We went to a fabulous birthday party at the CATS theater in Arlington.

Before the show started, the kids worked off some energy by marching around the party room. Man, Noah had a great time hanging with the big kids.

Finally they all sat down on the little stage for a group picture.
Believe it or not, they actually decided to pose for the group picture on their own.

When Noah noticed me with the camera, he ran around to pose for me, close-up.
We couldn't take any pictures during the show, of course, so I'll just tell you about it. Jackson spent the entire first half in my lap telling me he was sleepy and need to go home to go to sleep. At least he wasn't too loud about it. Noah did well sitting on a booster seat between Brad and me. He seemed into the show for the most part. Then came the part where Belle first enters the castle, looking for her father. It was very quiet in the theater except for Belle calling, "Hello, hello!"

So then Noah yelled out, "Hello!" The entire audience got a good laugh out of that. I guess he decided he was on a roll because then he started shouting out, "Cock-a-doodle-do!" As loud as he could. And he wouldn't stop. He and Brad exited stage right at this point. But the theater had a concession stand and a room where you can watch the show on a tv with your little kids, so he had a great time nevertheless.

During intermission we went back to the party room for some snacks. Noah very nicely shared his popcorn with Jackson. Then we headed back in for the second half.
Jackson freaked out. He kept screaming and demanding we go home. He wouldn't stop. So, we got a drink at the concession stand and headed for the little waiting room. We sat on the comfy couch and watched the show on tv and chatted with some of the parents waiting for their kids to finish the performance. At one point some wolves from the show ran through. It was very exciting. I hear Noah did well inside. He and his buddy Sadie chatted the whole time, but it wasn't too crazy.

Then it was party time! The actors from the show dropped in to visit and sing happy birthday. It was Disney's Beauty and the Beast, so the kids recognized all the characters.
This is Lumiere, after he was changed from a candlestick back to a human.
Here's Gaston.

Here you can see, uh, the goofy sidekick of Gaston (can't remember his name), Mrs. Potts, as a human, Belle in the middle with the birthday girl, Gaston behind her, the beast/prince, and some assorted villagers and flatwear.

We had a really great time!
