Valentine's Weekend

Here's what I came up with for Jackson's school valentines. I wasn't feeling very creative, so I went with purchased goodie bags with very simple homemade cards attached to the front. Since Jackson can't have candy, I decided not to give out candy to the other kids, either. The bags contained heart-shaped sunglasses, heart necklaces, and heart slinkies. The kids all seemed to like them. Jackson's party started out in the Pre-K room. The PTA provided cookies and punch for the kids. Jackson couldn't have any of it, so I brought him his own cookies and apple juice. He didn't seem to mind.
Then his little class moved back to their own room where they finished up their snacks and opened their valentines. Jackson got a couple of cans of Playdough, which he loves, so he was happy. Later, Noah, trying to be helpful, ate up Jackson's Valentine's candy, since he knew it might make Jackson sick. He's such a good brother!
The following day, we went to a Princess Tea Party! We started out in a bounce house, and then the girls all got dressed up in princess dresses. It was all so cute, it made (sort of) wish I had a little girl. Noah was offered a choice of neckties to wear, but he declined.
He did consent to let the birthday girl make him a prince and happily wore his gold crown.

Then followed a parade outside.Noah and the birthday girl's brother, lone men in a sea of little girls.

Noah seemed to have a great time, and seemed quite at ease around all the ladies. I think that's a forshadowing of things to come. I'm going to start losing sleep now.

You might be wondering where Jackson was during this party. Well, he was there. He just flat-out refused to participate. It was held at Chelsea's Tea Room and Boutique in Arlington, and Jackson never made it past the boutique. There were toys for sale out there, and he decided that was good enough for him. Luckily Brad was with us, and he stayed with Jackson. They did make it outside to see the parade, and then they settled into one of the patio tables to have cake.
What a wonderful way to end a Valentine's Weekend!
