Jackson woke up at 5:00 this morning. He never used to wake up early. He stayed in bed the whole time, though. Finally, at 7:00, he was ready to get up. School doesn't start till 8:00, so I turned on one of his Dora videos.
He crawled into Brad's armchair, and promptly fell asleep at 7:05. Guess who was cranky and didn't want to get dressed for school?
I had prepared myself for the crying, of course. And Brad was around to help me get both kids ready. And I had already been up for several hours at this point, so getting out the door was a relatively smooth process.
Once we were on our way, Jackson was chipper and excited! Here he is, walking to school. We only live about 4 blocks from the school, so it's nice to get to walk. The traffic was a nightmare anyway, what with all the parents driving on the first day.
I really did think he would cry when we left him in the room. But no. He was way too busy playing. His teacher had to make him say goodbye to us. Little Monkey.
So I'm getting excited about this year. His new teacher seems really great. I think he's going to learn a lot and have a ball doing it.
To all you kiddies out there, have an awesome year at school! And to all you parents, go have a mocha and think of me!

Yeah, and I totally meant to do that. I'm not a sucky photographer or anything!
He's adorable! I'm glad he was excited to get off to school, so were my kids. Things are so much smoother that way.
