1st Day of School

Today was Jackson's 1st day of PPCD at the new elementary school 3 blocks away. Go Trailblazers! To say the morning was hectic is putting it mildly. So I didn't manage to get any pictures. It was all a lot of crying, anyway. I have to say, I was really perky and cheerful right until the classroom door closed behind me. Then, well, let's just say I didn't want to leave my baby there!

Jackson apparently stopped crying after we left and did well. His class goes down to the cafeteria to eat breakfast first thing. Jackson didn't want to sit on the bench and eat. He preferred to lie on the floor. But hey, at least he wasn't crying when he did it!

I did take a couple of pictures when I picked him up. He only goes half-days (for 5 days a week!!!), so this is around 11:00.

He totally didn't want to look at the camera. But I did manage to get a blurry shot of him grinning in the bike trailer. He knew he was getting to go home.
Well, this has been a stressful day for all of us. I'm glad he ended up doing well in class. I was a nervous wreck all morning. I couldn't stomach the idea of sitting around for 3 hours waiting to pick up him, so I dragged poor Noah to the gas station, the post office, the bank, and the car wash. At least I finally got some errands done!

Oh, but, we have to do this all over again tomorrow, don't we? Damn.

I hope it gets easier for you. I know, in a few years, when I have to take Sydney to school I'm going to be balling my eyes out for the 3 hours wondering when my baby grew up! : )

I hope the week/month goes smoother for you too. Ryan will be our crier, and I've got a year or two before I'm living those days. :) Good luck.
